Explore the gulf-side artificial reef system on Navarre Beach from the comfort of a clear bottom kayak!  The unique clear lens of the kayaks will afford a view like none other. After the Kayak tour visit the Turtle Center for Turtle Treks educational presentation followed by a tour of the facility.

Final permits have been issued to Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners for a 1 x 2 mile reef area 1 nautical mile off of Navarre Beach.

Plans are also being discussed for a wide dune walkover  with a large wash down station accessible from the parking lot of the Gulf Side pavilion in Navarre Beach Marine Park.  The walkover and wash down station will accommodate dive, paddle board, kayak and similar equipment making access to and from the beach for such items easier and provide a location for fresh water wash down.

I swam with this little guy at the reef recently.

This guy was spotted lumbering through the reef Sunday afternoon, May 10. Estimated to be between 3.5 to 4 feet.

Water clarity in the sound is good this time of year.
