These guys just seem to hang in the water.  Very mesmerizing to watch while hovering over the reefs.

If you have been out to the Gulf Side Reefs or any where near them, chances are you have run into Dan McCarren.   Dan, a long time NBMS Committee member and avid supporter is at the beach daily all year round.  When he’s not on the reefs he’s showing folks how to get there or explaining their importance to visitors and residents alike.    Be Like Dan – Get out to Navarre County Beach Park and enjoy the reefs.

This Nurse shark had beaten a fisherman by stripping the line from their reel, unfortunately the line trailed behind it and when it sought refuge with the Navarre Snorkeling reef it became entangled.   Two divers and a swimmer (Bob Boston) enjoying “snokeliscious” came to the rescue, secured a knife and cut the line holding the shark to the reef.  Just one more example of working together for Navarre’s environment and low impact enjoyment.
