At the initial planning meeting for next year’s (2011) run, Saturday, October 15th 7:30 AM was set as the date and time of the run. The venue will again be the Navarre Beach Pier.
The structure for the Race Planning Team was discussed and we now have a slate of coordination positions to be filled along with selection of the Overall Race Director. We need a fee good volunteers to keep our event progressing and have it be all it can be. No run experience is necessary – we’ve done this a couple of times now and have a wealth of know how, templates, etc in most of these areas. Here are the leadership needs:
Overall Race Director – Do you like being in charge, following up on things, making sure everyone is staying on track, and ensuring things run smoothly? This is the job for you.
Sponsorship Coordinator – Help us get out ahead of the curve by contacting and securing existing and new sponsors early in the year.
Registrations Coordinator – Set up our online registrations and manage the in person registrations, including tracking participant information, planning & coordinating package pickup, and race day registration.
Public Safety and Course Coordinator – Planing and race day coordination with sheriff’s department, CERT, Fire and Rescue personnel and race day course setup.
Advertising & T-Shirts Coordinator – Are you a gad about town or a creative soul. Keep our event in the public domain and put your creativity to work on next year’s race shirt.
Venue & Awards Coordinator – This one is for party planners. Coordinate with the venue, secure the awards, and make sure the after party and awards ceremony go off as planned.
Results Coordinator – Arrange for race timing and work with the vendor to ensure timely and accurate results.
